Genuine tanned leather is slowly tanned using a powdered tannin extracted from the bark of mimosa trees grown in South America, resulting in a wild and highly finished leather that is created using the skills of craftsmen. . The bono and rubono leather used in SLOW's standard series comes from North America, but this series uses carefully selected cowhide from Japan. The silver surface is thinner than that produced in North America, and the lack of an oil finish makes it both supple and light.
